From September the National Cultural Foundation (NCF);.
intends to have a comprehensive steel band development plan in schools and churches.Speaking at a Press briefing for Pan Pun De Sand last Thursday at Weisers On The Bay, NCF chief executive officer Ian Estwick said out of the 23 secondary schools, 13 were without active steel bands, and he hoped to have these schools covered in three years' time. After this, he said, he wanted to start with primary schools. Estwick also said that in Trinidad and Tobago there were many schools with steel bands, and he welcomed the support of corporate Barbados to make this a reality here. |
